Futility Freedom
Released: July 8, 2021
Life’s all, inside you, Jesus
All creation was made through you
I didn’t know I needed Your Spirit in me
My whole journey walking this dry earth
Was looking for love, looking for happiness
Thinking it had to come out of me!
Trapped!
I was trapped in hopelessness
Always hoping to believe
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you loved me to die to set me free
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
— Lyrics: Verse 1, Chorus 1

Life’s all, inside you, Jesus
All creation was made through you
I didn’t know I needed Your Spirit in me
My whole journey walking this dry earth
Was looking for love, looking for happiness
Thinking it had to come out of me!
Trapped!
I was trapped in hopelessness
Always hoping to believe
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you loved me to die to set me free
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
So, if I don’t sing these words with this tune into this microphone today
Even with the lawnmower going in the background
I might never get back to it
Cause life’s chaotic
And there’s a war going on
A war for souls to lose many
And for this song, to win
A Satan’s roaring around like a roaring lion
But his roar just isn’t as loud
As the cry of the message of hope!
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you loved me to die to set me free
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
He rose from the dead, to set me free
He rose from the dead, to set me free
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility
Jesus, you loved me to die to set me free
Jesus, you died to set me free from this futility

The Story Behind the Artwork
Leo and I flew into San Diego, and I looked out the window of the plane and took this photo. The dark night flying into the city reminded me of how lost I once was, trying to find hope and meaning and purpose.
My heart cried out one night, wanting to know the truth, tired of fighting the futility of life, and find what my heart truly wanted—love! God is love, and He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to find each one of us and call us out of this dark, cold world. “Futility Freedom” is an anthem to help others find their light in Jesus Christ and hope.
