Recently, I made this large planter to put in my courtyard. When I placed the glazed piece in my kiln, I stood a small pot on the unglazed part, which caused it to crack. I was so disappointed.
But I decided to try and find a way to use my planter anyway. And it spoke to me – this broken vessel supported by a wire basket, almost like hands holding it up with its broken part hanging above. God uses us, the broken. None of us our complete yet, whole, or fully transformed into the image of Christ. It’s our destiny, our hope, and we are on our way. But today, we are like this planter needing the Lord Jesus’ hands to hold us up to do the work He’s called us to do, live the life glorifying Him with His power shown in these weak vessels, the clay pots of our perishing bodies.
